Pursuing an LLM / NYU LL.M. in Environmental Law
« on: May 10, 2010, 09:33:30 AM »
I was just recently admitted to NYU's new LL.M. program in Environmental Law but haven't found much info about it online anywhere except on NYU's webpage.  Anyone else around here in the program?  Have any thoughts about it?

I'm already in NYC, if anyone else is, and would like to meetup sometime prior to Sept., let me know.  Otherwise, see you in the Fall!

Law School Admissions / George Washington = Slow?
« on: November 16, 2005, 04:06:15 PM »
I sent off a bunch of apps last week and all of the schools have requested my LSAC report...except George Washington.  Are they historically slow, or should I give them a call and see what's happening?  Thanks!

Law School Admissions / Pre-law advisor - bad advice?
« on: November 03, 2005, 06:12:38 AM »
I had the pre-law advisor from my undergrad read through my personal statement and diversity statement and he gave me a little bit of feedback but admitted he was not exactly up-to-speed on what's expected in the essays.  The advice from him that I am questioning is that he told me to be more "matter of fact" instead of telling a story and describe the basic facts "as clinically and briefly as possible".

Does this sound like good advice or a good approach to a diversity statement (or any essay, for that matter)?  When writing a diversity statement, do adcoms expect it to be "just the facts"??  Thanks for any input!

Law School Admissions / Where should I waste my money? NYU or Columbia?
« on: October 26, 2005, 02:43:15 PM »
I know it's a long reach for me at either NYU or Columbia but I figure I might as well send an app to one of them (if I get fee waivers, I'll go ahead and do both).  Anyway, which would be the "better" bet?  My numbers are 2.98/173 plus 8 years WE and minor ECs... does one like WE more than the other?  Is one more likely to ignore undergrad more than the other?  Anything else I'm not thinking of?  Thanks for the input!
