General Board / Re: are your classmates snobby a**holes?« on: October 09, 2005, 09:16:25 PM »Quote I just finished my first week as a 1L and the stereotype of bitchy, snobby law students is true Well, with all of the greed, backstabbing, and big egos that characterize lawyers and the law profession in general, how could it be otherwise? 3
General Board / Re: Public Interest« on: October 09, 2005, 09:09:06 PM »Quote public interest positions are often more competitive than the biglaw jobs. there are plenty of students at top law schools that are willing to make under $40k a year to fight for a cause. Not really! 4

Coxless, I think you are doing it all wrong. I think I remember you -- you had some stats that would allow you to go to a T2. Why didn't you? Following money was wrong in your case.

Transferring / Re: original school won't let you transfer????« on: October 09, 2005, 08:58:16 PM »a classmate of mine today told me that it is extremely hard for you to transfer because most law schools "won't let you do it." she said that she had a friend who tried to transfer but the school she was at just wouldn't release her records to the school she wanted to transfer to. now, i have never heard this before, but is this a problem that you can seriously face? like i said in a previous post, i'm at a 4T and i need to get the hell out of here! LOL marketster, I know what you mean!

General Board / Re: Considering dropping out.. any advice?« on: October 09, 2005, 08:55:13 PM »
Stop reading cases. Buy commercial outlines for the exams. When in class, surf the Internet and do not pay the slightest attention to the idiot in fron of you, your professor.

General Board / Re: Does anyone else think law school is alot easier than you thought it would b« on: October 09, 2005, 08:33:16 PM »Speaking of being average... Big undergraduate names simply do not tell anything about the quality of the student. Remember, they are at a T4 school with you because they suck at something -- either their undergrad GPA or LSAT score was low enough. However, there's a catch -- when figuring out your first semester grades, professors will like to think most of the time that a 3.2 GPA from Harvard is way more respectable than a 3.7 GPA from, say, DePaul. Similarly, if you entered with an LSAT score of 158, but only had a GPA of 3.0, you'll be looked down upon by professors when compared to the Harvard guy with a 3.2 GPA, but with a LSAT of only 152.
