Also, take some day trips for yourself.  Hopefully your pup doesn't mind car rides.  Montauk is really nice.  It's on the southern fork of LI.  From Glen Cove, it'd probably take you 2.5 hours each way.

Do you visit the LSN site?  Look on there for people who have been admitted to Hofstra and expressed an interest to attend.  Got nothing to lose and you may just find yourself a bud.  :)

What books have you bought?  The only book that I have is Law School Confidential.

Did you ever think about contacting law firms on LI to see if anyone would be willing to take on a soon to be 1L for the summer?  Provide some exposure to a career in the legal profession before classes get underway.  Just an idea.

But he works all day (he is an accountant) and I am not doing anything at all

I hear you on that one.  I used to work for one of the Big 4 accounting firms here in NY.  I was so miserable doing that stuff each day that I decided to change careers.  I've been running a couple of my father's stores out in Suffolk County for the last year and will likely still have some involvement with them when schools starts.  If your fiance is in public accounting, maybe he'll free up now that busy season is over.  You still have a few months to get familiar with the area.  :)

Hopefully I will make some friends when I get there!  :)

I'm sure you will.  What made you decide to move to the L.I. area early?  Wanted to get settled in before classes begin?

this is not a bad idea.

but if u go to hofstra and want to make it to the city, just be warned you will need law review and a VERY good transcript. ( i guess those go hand in hand)

Saying that the law review is absolutely necessary in order to land a job in the city is a bit extreme.

I did get into Hofstra as well, but I don't really want to live on LI.

What's with your aversion to living on Long Island?  Bad experience?  Just curious.

I withdrew from the waitlist a couple of days ago.  Good luck!

My recommendation depends on where you want to practice.  Outside of New York I'd suggest going to Tulane.  If you would like to practice in New York I'd suggest Hofstra.
