General Board / Re: Education VS Law School
« on: December 06, 2005, 07:30:42 AM »
There are actually several educators in my Legal Writing section and I've never heard any of them say that they would go back to teaching. A friend from my class has mentioned before that he was burned out from teaching elementary kids and that law school is less stressful. I don't know if he still feels that way during exams,  though!

Studying and Exam Taking / Ending early?
« on: December 04, 2005, 11:58:19 PM »
Has anybody finished a law school final exam early and done well? How about a first-year exam? I'm just wondering because several people left early in the last two exams, but I was working up until the last minute. I'm wondering if this is a sign that I'm not budgeting my time well, or if the people who left just missed something.

No, he can't recover. The comments aren't outrageous enough and I don't think the thin-skulled plaintiff rule applies to intentional infliction of emotional distress.

I'm here. Exams suck.

General Board / Re: Promissory Estoppel/Reliance

I'd just like to point out that promissory estoppel can also be used to get around the statute of frauds; it's not just a substitute for consideration. I can't think of any examples of when you'd use promissory estoppel if you have an enforceable contract.

I don't see how you people can pretend to have an intellectual debate over the "hateful" Jews and what not. That's prejudice and prejudice is ignorant, no matter how you dress it up. Remember The Bell Curve? Yeah, that guy was an idiot, too.

General Board / Re: Talismans and Spells For Law Students

I'm not 100% sure, but I think this was a joke. I mean, the last "talisman" was the seal from $$. I think it's a joke, like, bribe your prof or something.

Studying and Exam Taking / 7 Questions Contracts Lecture for BarBri
« on: November 19, 2005, 07:34:01 AM »
Has anybody ever used Epstein's 7 questions approach on an exam? Did that format help you? If you have any other thoughts about the BarBri lecture tapes, I'm interested in that, too.

I feel your pain, but luckily I made a couple of friends at school who I see eye-to-eye with. I think maybe the key is to find one or two people who you connect with, and then make time to do something once in a while with those people. I promise, there's at least one other person who feels the way that you do! You just might have to take the initiative and introduce yourself.
