General Board / Re: Psychopath attorneys

I had a professor that exhibited the exact and same symptoms this serial bully does! But go ahead and make her and the faculty believe he's really sick!

Transferring / Re: 27% at a 3rd tier
« on: July 07, 2005, 10:20:16 PM »
Even if you don't make it in the top 25% after your first year, you'll probably make it after your second year -- when the top 10-15% of your class will have transferred out your school. You may not be able to transfer out at that point, but you'll probably be ranked better at your school than the transferred out ones will be ranked at the schools they went to ;)

If you actually have time to book-brief, it'll definitely work.

LOL ;)

Studying and Exam Taking / Re: For 1Ls: Open Book v. Closed Book
« on: July 07, 2005, 10:16:05 PM »
Even if it may be a "closed book" exam, if they allow you to go to the bathroom, it becomes "open book", in case they give you all the questions to answer to from the very beginning of the exam.

What kind of a s s h o l e s they have to be to give you all of the questions from the very beginning AND allowing you to go to the bathroom???

General Board / Re: Do you hate law?
« on: July 07, 2005, 10:12:08 PM »
Why bother to hate law? Personally, I give law about the same amount of worth that one should give Rush Limbaugh's ideas on what should be done with drug addicts, or Al Gore talking about what a nice middle-class working background he comes from.

I don't think lawyer's way of thinking/masquerading is meant beyond a certain very specific audience, most of whom don't want to hear that they are complete jackasses.

In actuality, they say that if you don't know what profession to choose, it may just be a good idea to go to law school to become a lawyer.

General Board / Re: Sage advice for soon to be 1L's
« on: July 07, 2005, 10:04:48 PM »
The most important things I learned as 1L were these:

1. Do not buy the case books for your classes.

2. Do not study at all during the school year, except for the last week of your classes and during the exam period.

If they do not allow you to use commercial outlines, you just create yourself summaries of those same commercial outlines on a piece of paper to take them with yourself ... easy

General Board / Re: 1L Summer Clerkship
« on: July 07, 2005, 09:57:56 PM »
Big law firms here where I live just do not hire 1Ls. The most you can get is clerking for some suck-ass judge.
Although most law firms don't advertise it, pretty much ANY firm will take a 1L if they are impressed enough with the applicant's resume.

Theoretically yes!

... for some suck-ass judge

LOL! This is really cool!
