I'm in B too. Can't wait to meet you all. (Those I did not already meet on Tuesday at South Street) - I'm going to hit the book store tomorrow I think...

I'm from New York (city, not upstate), though I grew up in Charlottesville before coming up North amongst the Yanks. Can't wait to get my southern on.
I'm in for happy hour - I'm partial to St. Maartens (on the corner), but could be persuaded to go anywhere...
I'll be in c'ville for a several weeks prior to classes. I was just admitted off the waitlist so didn't get to attend any admitted events earlier in the year. I can't wait to meet you all! Anyone else out there coming from NYC?

2.97/173 - In off the waitlist at Virginia !!
Family ties to the University helped big-time, it sounds like.

Wwork til July, then cash in the 401K and live off of relatives for 2 months. Travel (to visit family, etc - at minimum, Albequerque and San francisco are on the list), hopefully - and lots of tubing on the James river.

Hi Team!!! I'm glad someone started the thread so I can be a follower. I'm 99% sure it's gonna be W&L for me. I'm going down w/ my kids n stuff to visit once more next week (thurs-fri, we'll probably be gone by 5/5) to see if my better half can handle the lil ol town. I am pretty sure it will charm the socks of him, but you never know. If he hates it there, then I will not be attending, so it's a big decision-making weekend. (Apparently it's also alumni weekend so the town should be pretty packed-hotels are really hard to book even for Thurs night.)
I was at 3/25. I can't wait to see everyone again this fall. Is anyone out there currently in the NYC area (or visiting NYC in the next 2 months)? If so, maybe we can have a little W&L pub night.
Also, anyone who will be at W&L this fall and who also has kids, please feel free to PM me (I hope I'm not the only one!)

For what it's worth, Paul Pless at UIUC brought this up in the career services talk at the admitted weekend. He noted that law school applicants seem to forget that it's impossible for everyone to be in the top 10% of the class. He stressed that UIUC was committed to finding great jobs for every single student.
If I were you, I'd have a talk with the career services people, expecially if you are still deciding between schools, and see if they have this sort of can-do attitude regarding the "rest" of the class, or if they stress their employment success with only the top half...
