General Board / Studying Time and how to spend it

I know that everyone on this board has asked very similar questions, but I'm still pretty concerned. I just started my 1st year at a tier 4 school. I really like it so far, but I feel like my classmates are spending way more time on things. People keep saying they are studying all the time and only getting 5 hrs. of sleep. I feel like i understand things pretty well....at least as well as to be expected at this point, but i certainly get more than 5 hrs. of sleep each night, and I don't spend every minute studying when I get home until I go to bed. I spend between 2-5 hrs. depending on the day, but I also do a lot of work on my weekends. I use those for working on and updating my outlines. Is this enough? Do I need to be doing what everyone else is? Also, I started out briefing every case, but I've stopped that in like 2 classes because it took sooo much time, is this a bad choice? Do I need to brief for at least my first sememster everything? Also, I have friends at other tier 1 schools telling my how much crazy reading they have every night. We usually do not have an unmanageable amount, generally if you are not behind of course, we have about 50 pgs. or so every night. Is this not very much? Are better schools a lot harder? thanks to all you for your advise.
