Read a bunch of pointless books (e.g. PLSII, Getting to Maybe), moved and worked.

Whatevs, she's all on your FB but you somehow managed to crop her out of your LSD profile pic.  Why is this?

Con Law is your friend.  It may not seem like it now but give it a chance.

But Con Law (the only one of my classes where the prof cold calls) did get a lil interesting today....

Classmate:  I wonder why you never get called on, it seems like he always looks right past you.

Me: Giiirrll, you know he ain't tryna pronounce my name ...he prolly looks at my name on the roster and is like "skiiip!"

Classmate: ha ha, yeah you might be right

Prof: so......gemini5165! (not even my gubment, he calls me by my nickname...WTF??!)

Me:::Ducks down behind laptop:: (when bullets fly, literally or metaphorically, I have a tendency to duck)

Everyone looks in my direction.  I look around at my classmates to see if I could spot the snitch who told the prof my know, that one person not making eye contact....

Prof: gemini5165?

Me: Yessszir?

Prof: lets talk about case  x v y

Me: uhnhuh..

Prof: you dont have to give me any details on the case just tell me how you think it compares to blah blah blah

Me: Um, its like blah blah because blah blah

After about a minute's worth of yes or no questions (each to which I appropriately replied, "Yes." or "No.") he moved on to the next case with someone else. I GOT OFF EZ AS HELL. This prof usually sticks it out with someone for the duration but there just wasn't much to the case.  I leaned back, absorbed the hate and was like, "Jjjjyeah!"

So uh . . .how's Life in Law School/Hell?

It's aight, not hell. I guess I could turn it into something like hell if I were gunning for top 10%.  But knowing that my grades are determined by throwing the exams off a stairwell makes me less inclined to overextend myself.

Still think that us old-timers were just complaining about nuthin?

Not "complaining about nuthin", but definitely over-dramatized :-P

Still think that all you have to do is stay up on your reading and Law School will be a breeze?

Nope, but I didn't have that luxury in undergrad so I definitely didn't have that expectation for law school.

Have ya had the meltdown yet or are you waiting until reading period?

I can't be broken by something I chose to do when there remains an opportunity to opt out.

How's that Memo comin'? You started Outlining?

Thanks to the 3-day weekend I'm halfway's due Friday.  Started outlining this past weekend...a lil bit lost in the sauce with the outlining...I'm going to start over with a less lazy approach.

The biggest obstacle has been figuring out when to eat since class and dinnertime overlap.  Oh, and my disdain for Con Law...both the class and the reading put me to sleep.  My notes for that class are filled with comments like "yhouighjklfaeuui wyuiqa" from my head hitting the laptop.

You had two semesters of con law?  We, and I think Harvard, have only 1.  But federalism and 11th Amendment immunity are quite interesting indeed.

Fortunately, the only thing I have for 2 semesters is legal writing.

I have 2 semesters of LRW and 2 of Civ Pro.

And I h8 ConLaw.  Marbury v Madison for 3 sessions already >:(.  The word Marbury now has a Pavlov effect on me.....

Professor: "We're going to, once again, take a look at Mar" ::Head falls on desk:: zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Happy Birthday Alci!

Ditto @ bolded!

Oh, and happy birthday #1 (today I'll refer to you as #1, tomorrow you go back to being Alci  :P)

Not sure what the topic is, but if it's fly female celebreties:  Katherine Zeta-Jones and Sanaa Lathan.

On aging gracefully, Debbi Morgan and Angela Bassett come to mind but I think Iman takes home the prize in that category.

Incoming 1Ls / Re: Microsoft OneNote - yay or nay?
« on: August 28, 2007, 12:27:30 PM »
Likely naive questions (at least the second one) but here goes...

After recondidering my decision to sell it, I may just hold on to my new copy of OneNote 2007....but:

- It is my understanding that the MS Office 2007 suite was designed for Vista and I am still on XP, will this affect my use of OneNote 2007?

- If I already have OneNote 2003 installed and try to load 2007 will my computer explode (or the like)?

i have office 07 on my desktop at home that runs xp....not a problem

Thanks Jem  :)  Are you using OneNote 2007 for classes? (not sure if you already indicated the version, I haven't read through this thread)
