all the more reason to avoid any non t30 school like the plague lest on substantial scholarship / independently wealthy, imho.

question: have you (i.e. all of you fellow hapless NY barbri takers) been outlining the lecture notes at all? i'm loathe to do this as 1) it takes me hours, 2) there are few things that i hate more, and 3) contrary to bar/bri company rhetoric, i learn close to nothing via the "process" of composing the f-ing thing. instead, a completed outline, with sufficient detail, would be 100x better as i could better use my time studying / memorizing that, instead of manufacturing (i.e. painfully transcribing) my own bad version.

i called bar/bri and asked them specifically if they provided one or if there was an "outlining" service that i could pay for .. they laughed at me. excuse me? did my firm not just fork over THIRTY TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS so that i may pile into a tiny, crowded classroom and watch a stupid 4 hour vid with all of the other suckers?

all the same, my Q is this: has anyone found an online source (maybe from last year?) of a NY Barbri lecture note outline? if so, could you please point me in the right direction? thanks ...

quick question: i'm interested (though now wavering) in taking the barbri review course for ny. however, i will most likely take "home study" course as i will be living with my parents while i study and they are located in an area where the lecture is not given. i discovered today that that the home study course adds an additional *1500* dollar fee onto the already hefty price tag (~3g) for the barbri course. granted, my firm is paying for the course but 1) i dont feel all that comfortable asking them for an additional 1500 just so i can study at home, and 2) the fee itself strikes me as absurd as really all they do is provide the lectures in mp3 format (where as the normal "lectures" are video lectures watched on some 15 year old TV with poor audio [if my mpre experience was indicative]) - in other words, i don't like getting screwed.

does anyone know of a viable alternative to the barbri review course for the NY Bar that doesn't hit you with such mind numbingly absurd fees for home study? if not, has anyone had the experience of asking their firm for the additional 1500 so that they could take the home study? any tips on how that should go?

One of my friends who works at biglaw told me the other day that nyc firms about to bump first year associate starting salaries up from 145 to 160.

has anyone else heard this?

Is it just me or does it seem like the job market for 2Ls sucks right now?
