Sorry to hear about that. You never know where you will strike up a friendship. Sometimes it is the person who serves you coffee at the diner or sells you the newspaper everyday or in any number of situations. A lot of times those people turn out to be some of the coolest and/or nicest meet you'll meet.

I think there are some interesting cases. It is just that some of them are very sad as well.

My Mom bought me a really nice mini digital recorder before my first year but I then found out they were against the rules.  I have not used the recorder once since then.

At my school (not a fourth tier by far) a good number of people get d's and have to take a first year class again. Quite a few of them did study hard but just did not do well on the exam.  I think we have one of those schools that tries to raise the bar passage rate by flunking some out. After my first year, quite a few students left but I don't know if it was mostly grades or something else.

But for the most part, unless you are one of those people who study hard but test poorly you should be okay.

I kind of knew that it would be but studying for the final really drives that point home. So many screwed up families.  But I really like the professor though.

My evidence professor made it completely closed book. No FRE. It was a bit of a killer.  It is the only one of my classes that is closed book this semester
