I appreciate the posts, thanks for your help.  On a side note, where does that leave the living arrangements with that house you were trying to rent out?

I've been busy working on our show, so excuse my absence.  This is going to be one of those dead periods for me, just riding out my stint at the firm (last day: july 29th, huzzah).  I'm honestly so bored at work that ANY change of pace is more than welcome...if it wasnt for pick up soccer and kickball ( i'd probably have so much pent up office rage that i'd chew someones head off.  Fortunately i have yet to do so.

Sometimes i feel like im the only creative input for our show...

I personally am torn about putting the window sticker on my car.  I'm not sure why, but i suppose it doesnt really matter since i dont have my car in brooklyn.  Maybe i should put it on the 2 or 3 train i commute into manhattan with.

Ok, so i've been 'studying' grays anatomy and i think our show has a decent shot if we do 3 major things, 1. Do something sexually racey like sleep with our professors  2.  Be involved with some absurd case that would never happen in real life and then learn something about our client that would really make us 'think'  3.  Have someone do dialogue for the show douggie howser, M.D. style.

Any thoughts?

Man, your parents must have been thrilled with such a practical major…I have to say the life of an actor/actress is not a terribly comfy one in the beginning.  I dated a girl who had been working in off broadway plays for 2-3 years and she still had to double as a waitress and ticket sales person…I think going to law school is a bit more of a ‘sound’ choice.  As for the artsy people, I generally enjoy them, but only the genuine ones.  The poser artsy people are usually easy to pick out because they act super pompously about being artsy and when you grill them on their supposedly artsy point of view they fold like a deck of cards.  Speaking of which, we should get an artsy person for our show, but for the second season…we should probably stick to the core characters during the first season.

dont feel bad about the shirt being to big, im over 6' and it still makes me look like i'm a 5 yr old.

For the show, i'd say a great first episode would be us scoffing at our new 'wierd' neighbor and then at the end of the episode we'd find out in some grandious fashion that he/she was a big league law professor back in her/his day.  Then we'd say we were sorry for scoffing at her(him) and then she'd(he'd) say something quasi funny like "its ok...but if it happens again i'll make sure you get F's for the semester"...then we'd all laugh and high five.  I play guit and blues harp so maybe a niche in the show is that we could have a 2 piece

In terms of prepping, i'd be wary of those 'law preview' courses.  Instead i'd suggest reading planet law school 2 and doing what atticus falcon suggests.  It seems to be the right path to take.  But hey, if you wanna spend 1k$ to learn how to brief a case, i say go for it.

ugh, the grand caymans are fantastic...i particularly enjoyed playing with the sting rays, who'd have known they're like dogs?

New perspective on the show: have a friendly neighbor who used to be a law professor and helps us with various problems we may have, personally or academically.  Man, this show practically writes itself.

As for the Tshirt, did they send you like a quadruple XL, b/c mine is like a moo moo...its very emasculating.

yea, i've slowly become addicted to this board, but i try to limit it to when im at work...posting this late at night is a new step in my addiction (fortunately i havent started getting the shakes yet).

The firm i work at now is small and is specialized, so im kinda bored with the work right now and i've hit the first year 'rut', so its like torture sitting at my desk sometimes.  I def. doubt i would try to work there again over the summer, i'd rather grab a job elsewhere.  I'm also taking off in July and intend on traveling as much as possible in august!

In order for our show to really take off i think one of us has to be a hipster, another has to be addicted to something(LSD message board maybe?) and the other one has to be in a band...this would make for an uber drama/hip/comedy show that would rock the nelson ratings.  Also, my character gets to be awesome.

Yea, i graduated last year and i've been working at a firm in manhattan.  The area around the school isnt what you'd call 'great'.  Thats the reason why im leaning towards living on campus, plus i do not know if i want to have to worry about commuting during 1L (long island is known for its horrible traffic).  You have the nassau colliseum really close so you can go to games if ur bored, theres roosevelt mall(big), which is also really close...ur also relatively close to jones beach and the jones beach ampitheater(a very cool place to see concerts).  In terms of safety, i wouldnt walk around hempstead turnpike at night by myself, but you could also say that in manhattan (i almost got robbed once there!).  But i mean, will you be wondering around at night alot?  probably not, so i mean, i wouldnt worry to much about it.

On a completely side note, if me you and sexonthebeach lived in the same house we'd be like that TV show on ABC, but instead of med students we'd be law students...awesome.

The living situation is pretty good.  I moved in with her and a friend (guy) this past November and its been a smooth ride.  No one has had grievances towards anyone else, but we’re all pretty easy going people.  The only real issue is that she’s kind of a lame-o and isn’t that fun to hang around with…but I guess that’s my fault for being so awesome :).  We're all 23 by the way.
