Yeah, finally got into row 45 (sec 27). Took long enough.

Home schedule this year sucks, team probably will too, but I'm calling a victory in Columbus this year (we'll play the spoiler).

$625 studio, across the street from the Law Quad in the basement of a "quiet house" (old mansion outfitted for "serious" students/visiting faculty). Price includes all utilities except TV and internet (which I plan to "steal" from the University of Michigan given my close proximity to campus). Having to rely on street parking kinda blows, though, but I am right by campus and will therefore probably use my car sparingly.

Plus, the studio has a separate bedroom and living room/kitchenette and is one of the biggest studios I've seen on campus.

Law School Applications / Re: Non - cut throat schools.

Michigan at least appears a bit less cut-throat. They don't publish your rank until after graduation and are known to foster a more collegial atmosphere. It seems to be the "feel good" T14 school.

err...nevermind, I read the order status thing wrong. Mine is coming on the 7th.  :-[

FYI, I ordered my MacBook on July 15, it shipped from China on the 23rd, arrived at my house yesterday. I played around with it for a half hour or so.

Seeing as I'm a musician of sorts, I'm glad I got this a month before law school starts because I can definetly see GarageBand stealing some of my life away.

I got my iPod and my printer last week. My MacBook shipped Sunday morning, but its status hasn't changed on the FedEx tracker, so I don't think it's even reached the shipping center in the US yet (it shipped from China).

I wear one at least once a week to work. It's more of a salmon than a pink, though.  ;)

One thing: it is definitely a good idea to upgrade the RAM from the base model.

And if you do the Macbook, be sure to do the upgrade through Mac. Because of the way it's configured (2 256MB RAM sticks in a total of 2 available slots), you couldn't just slap in a 512 upgrade and be set, you'd have to first rip out the existing sticks and replace them with two new 512 sticks, which would cost you twice as much as it would to simply upgrade through Mac themselves.

Michigan folks don't have anything until the 28th of August... I'm working for three more weeks after this one, although one of them I'll be on vacation so it's really two working weeks.

I'm gripping tightly to the precious little amount of freedom I have left.

Above a 166 for Duke, apparently.

Oh, and for those who were wondering, the Art Fair was cool and huge, but the art was ridiculously expensive (I guess I was hoping more for local artists/craftspeople).  I saw none of the hippies that loveless weas alluding to, but maybe that's becuase I came from Vermont where we have real hippes (the kind that live in a commune, drink their morining milk straight from the cow, and make clothes out of stuff they find laying around). I look forward to seeing some of you soon.

I was there on Saturday, and you're right -- there weren't that many hippies this year as far as I could tell. There was a guy in one of the booths on Liberty Street telling a 13-14 year old kid about how America needs a communist revolution, which was amusing.

I had a nice day there though. The gf and I spent some time in the Arb, and I walked around the Law Quad trying to pump myself up for September.
