are you two planning on apologizing to Hogan? I hear a compilation of your greatest posts is making the rounds amongst the faculty and administration. might be time to do some damage control.

Would you mind grabbing a copy of the honor code and telling me which part I violated really quick? LOL Anyhow, I'm done on this thread. I've discussed the subject with a few other students and they all thought what I did here was the right thing to do. Especially since it involved Hogan. I've been told that a link to this thread is currently being forwarded around the faculty so I wouldn't be surprised if they were browsing some of the older posts on the NLS board as well. Once again, the old maxim about not saying something behind someone's back you wouldn't say to their face really rings true. Have a good night, and I'll see you all tomorrow

Just found this little nugget from the memo assignment thread that I'l have to pass on. It's funny that Susan accuses Hogan of being passive-agressive and then comes on the board and posts stuff like this:
Susanlyoung: I guess I just feel defeated before I begin. Any instructor who goes to the trouble of writing out that grading scheme is going to be trouble in my past experience. I am going to do the best I can do. I don't know how accurate I will be in following her directions (cause I really don't understand them) but I know we had better get started soon! I still remember the professor in grad school who was exactly like this chick. I had to sit for my orals 3 months after a family tragedy and she grilled me like you wouldn't believe. She actually made me write a 20 page remedial paper that I bet the B*&%H never even read. I bet she tossed it in the trash. This was a requirement for my graduation. She was a real flake, having an affair with the married (with kids) director of the program. It was truly like being down the rabbit hole which is EXACTLY what I feel with Hogan. I will give it my best effort but I don't expect my grade to reflect it. She's too sneaky. Remember that little writing assignent the first night of class and how she told us after (oh, I was just checking to see how wordy you are, but you didn't know that did you?) call it what you want; bashing, venting, whatever. i never claimed anyone attacked hogan as a person or lawyer. i said you attacked her as an instructor and should've taken it to her first... especially when you're going around threatening to tattle to the dean. come to think of it, that does seem prety juvenile for a 49 year old man. 17

As far as what you said, I'd guess she'll take exception to you accusing her of being unprepared. Not to mention suggesting that someone should approach the dean about her.

You put yourself in a difficult situation by bashing her on a public message board. Maybe next time you'll be a little more discreet about it; not to mention a little more sensitive to your professors feelings/reputation.

My credibility as to what? I've only made statements of opinion (ie. you shouldn't have posted that). My credibility doesn't really come into play.
I suppose I could've just said you were being inappropriate but your reaction probably would've been the same defensive attitude you're exhibiting now. Like I said, if you didn't post anything you wouldn't want her to see; you have nothing to worry about. "And it is not your place to judge our postings." And it's not your place to tell me who and what I can email. As far as telling her myself, I sent it from a non-anon email account so she knows who I am. |
