Though I wish you all the best, 3.8 and 171 will not get you into Yale, and maybe not Harvard either. But, as you point out, you will not be detered, and you shouldn't be. Just realize that there has been significant inflation in US GPAs, and that the LSAT will be very, very important. Keep working on those ECs, and best of luck.
Not comparable? You still don't get it - what I am saying is that U of T is a non-ABA school. That's fact. Yes it is the top law school in Canada, without question, but it is a non-ABA approved school, so it is included in that group. So yes, U of T and non-ABA approved law schools are one and the same
