yes, i applied late. i barely got out of the navy last july. got my bachelor's completed in january and took the lsat in february.

so i am VERY late. i really didn't plan this whole thing very well. i didn't even really look into to it or consider it seriously till last october.

i was kinda crossing my fingers for UH. but, ding ding ding!

my military record is perfect. good conduct award, navy/marine corp achievment medal, honorable discharge.... the works!!

this is why i will have to do this all over again.  :'(

why did i leave?

i did not like my other options....

LIE LIE LIE... instead of saying 'my girlfriend and i' , i have to say 'my roommate', 'my cousin', 'my friend'.  it sounds trivial, but man! that annoyed the heck out of me. how can i DEMOTE someone that has been with me for over 4 years? especially when a guy can pick up some trash at the titty bar over the weekend and can call that his girlfriend!! AND he can talk ALL about what they did in his backseat!

because i was tired of hearing people throw around demeaning remarks about gay people. i don't care whether they knew it applied to me or not. i am sure that the notorious *n* word would not be tolerated even HALF as much as QUEER or FAG. but of course all of this is perfectly A-OK in the military.

after a while it wears on you. knowing that you are fighting (so to speak) for *liberty* and *freedom*... that a GAY MILITARY person... does NOT have!

after an 8 month deployment... everyone is excited to see their loved ones (of course)waiting for them on the pier! yipee!! because while Joe Schmo is making out with the trash he met at the tittie bar before we left, I am shaking hands and hugging *innocently* my lady.

i could go ON and ON and ON !!

and don't get me started on BUSH!

well, i am not doing the "GAY PRIDE" thing... but it is mentioned in passing. it was the reason that i left the military.

i am a texas resident... so i will be trying my luck at almost all the texas schools.

and if being half mexican counts for anything, well then YIPEE! more points for me.

hello all.
i have read from some of the posts that some schools send out an email acceptance before mailing it via snail mail.

is this true for most schools?

and if so... what about SMU and Houston...???
