Who knew when we were sitting for the LSAT at Duquesne in December that we would find ourselves enrolling at the same school 2500 miles away?

Seattle is much more of a fit for me tempermentally, I can sense already. Plus, I don't know how much older you are, OlderandWiser, but if you're like all those crazy kids on "The Face-Book," there's now a group for the law class of 2011. 6

Attending! Can't wait to live in the P-N-W as I've been a Mid-Atlantic boy all my life. I loved the campus when I visited (it was no accident, I'm sure, that the cherry trees were in bloom with Mt. Rainier looming in the distance...)
I loved the facilities. The natural light, building materials, overall design, library, all top-notch. They have a for-real public service commitment with alumni who are in the trenches doing the unglamorous "public interest" jobs. And a city that managed to win me over on my first visit. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals was in session at UW Law when I visited, so it was an opportunity to sit in on some at times interesting oral arguments (are dogs "livestock?" How much force is too much to get a tree-sitting protester to come down, already? How much control can the government legitimately exercise over the attendance and agenda of its press conferences?) I, too, have my hesitations about the quarter system, but will just be confident that I will figure it out like everyone else. All in all, looking forward to moving to Washington and getting started. 7
General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Re: The Official I'm Going to X School Thread« on: May 01, 2008, 04:00:29 PM »University of Washington!interesting choice considering your options. greenie has his/her facts straight. Trust me, I agonized for about a week straight over this decision. In the end it was really only a choice between UW and Michigan. Does it sting to turn down a top ten law program? You betcha. But a full scholarship at a solid school that's going to support me in finding fulfilling work feels really good. Plus, Seattle! The other scholarship people are amazing, and were all in the same situation I was. I think we chose well. @ Alecto: I got my avatar art from this website http://www.webweaverwoman.com/paris/yak.html I ate at this restaurant in 2003 in Paris. ņam, ņam! 8

Michigan. One of the hardest decisions ever. The Gates public service scholarship at U. of Washington is too tempting. Doing poverty law shouldn't mean you have to be poor!

My brethren (and sisthren), I was hoping to join you-all this fall, but I'm not. Withdrew my acceptance today; I'm going to U. of Washington in Seattle! The Gates public service scholarship was too much to resist. I hope you all have a great time in Ann Arbor!
