I do not believe in grade deflation when someone scores a 2.9 That GPA is more indicative of lazyness. (I have a 2.9) You have to be careful with the LSAT and stop looking ahead. The odds are against you scoring better than 150-something with a 2.9, and if you focus on what schools to apply to and all the other stuff of LS and forget about the LSAT (because you believe you are smart enough and the 2.9 is de-flated, etc...), you will end up with that 150-something. My advice is to focus intensely on the LSAT and study as if your life depended on it (because it does), and do NOT think about applying to LS yet.
If you crack 160, then start thinking about what schools. If you don't (and most likely you wont: Again, I am going with the odds, not you particularly), then ask yourself if you really, really want to go to LS, and get ready for the unranked schools.
(To those that have a 2.9 and scored higher than 165, congratulations, but you are a statistical anomally, so it is better not to encourage this poster, as possible as it is that she scores the same.)

did you get out of the recontracting conference as well?
edit: forgot to mention i think big daikon is hilarious. if any of you are considering JET i would take most off that stuff with a grain of salt, but seriously thank god for big daikon. it gets me through those rough days when i have nothing to do but waste time on the school's computer...
What's your moniker there? (if you don't mind), and what school are you going to?
Also, I passed on JET to go to law school, but, what do you think of someone going to law school and then going to JET for a few years before embarking on a legal career? In my case, I would love to do something law-related in Japan and I guess while on JET with a law degree I could start making my contacts and just leave when I get a law-related offer.

I'll let pluto explain her decision.
I know she is happy to be going to law school in the fall and I feel we should support her choice.
I never said I didn't support her choice, and I said I wasn't bashing. If she knows the consequences of attending such a low ranked school then that's fine. I merely wanted to let her know in case she didn't.

Kurosaki, people make decisions based upon their personal circumstances. Pluto, like me, chose not to leave the Bay Area because of her family. Plus, she wants a part-time program because of her little ones.
USF is in the Bay area. And they have a PT program. Your point?

I might attend (with $$$ too!) but am on a waitlist at Syracuse, and I can't pass up the chance to go to a Tier 2, especially since my intention is to transfer next year, and a Tier 2 opens more doors than a Tier 3 for transferring.

I'm not bashing but, you could go to a much better school with those numbers. In Cali alone, SC, USF, Southwestern are all much better. And if you could go out of state, you have a chance at a high Tier 2.

And how much does it cost? Is it pass/fail or is it just take it and start? How long does it take?

while this might be true, if everyone followed your logic, this board would be an absolute mess. by posting your thread only once and in the appropriate section, you help to keep lsd organized and easier to navigate for the rest of us.
Many people stay in one area and don't check the others, so, yes, I needed to start the same thread more than once. Thank you.
If you read my question you would see that there's no appropriate section for it, as it isn't an acceptance, or a waitlist, or a denial. Thank you.
