Here's one a C cheaper, with slightly better specs without the IBM name.

It's what I got, and it's great so far.

I'm kind of bringing up an old post but I learned something relevant...

I was talking to a professor who teaches IP.  She said that the confusion stated above comes from the fact that most lawyers who do patents call themselves IP lawyers, and folks that do copyright law call themselves copyright lawyers.  Hence you get a lot of people associating the attributes of patent law with IP.  BUT, this has been changing, especially in schools, where copyright is considered IP also.  That's where the confusion comes in.  It really just depends on what kind of IP law you want to do.  Patent law does usually require a working knowledge of what the patent is about, but copyright does not.

After 4 years of doing video journalism and audio work, I'm heading in this copyright and 1st amendment rights direction also.

New York Law makes an arrangement through another school to put some students in a dorm in Downtown Brooklyn.  Brooklyn Law school has several different buildings that students live in, ranging from studios to shared apartments.  They also have a huge brand new building that will be opening next year - all are in Brooklyn Heights.

Thanks.  I'm hoping I'll get one of those competitive slots as I am on a partial merit scholarship and I live in Atlanta.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: BU or Emory??? Need help

I've lived in Atlanta or Athens my entire life and I am now moving to NYC to go to law school.  Why anyone would want to live in Atlanta is beyond me.

Admittedly, Emory is near the best parts of the city: Decatur/Little 5 Points/W Ponce/E Atlanta.  But the problem with the area around Emory is that it is surrounded by upper middle class white folk yuppie types, or, as we call them down here, Emorrhoids.

The rest of the surrounding city is an extremely traffic congested suburban wasteland.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Cardoza?

I was accepted to Cardozo last Thursday, the 8th.  They actually called me on the phone to tell me, which was great. I have a 162/3.61.  No chance for scholarship money, which is too bad, because that pretty much makes it impossible for me to go there.  I have to agree with the comment above that if you haven't heard from them by now you probably won't be getting any money offers.  Not that I'm an expert.  In fact, don't listen to me because I know nothing about it.  Look into my pinwheel and I will erase the last 20 seconds of your memory.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Catholic vs American
« on: April 09, 2004, 06:06:06 AM »
The problem with Catholic's media program is that they only allow a certain number of students to enter it each year.  You should APPLY NOW for it if you want to do it.  I applied to Catholic after looking at the FCC's website and noticing the large numbers of their staff had gone to CU.

My biggest problem with Catholic was how conservative it seemed.  I mean sure, it's a Catholic school so it's really no surprise, but it really wasn't a place I thought would be a good place for me.
