Law School Admissions / Re: Most competitive student bodies?

Actually, Southwestern is currently tier 3, and a damn good tier 3 thank you very much.  I know -- hard to believe that a Yale grad would even be caught dead in such a place!!  The humanity.  Maybe he had a rough day on the LSAT.

I bet a good majority of T1 students would be pretty mediocre ones if you'd place them in a T4 school! They are not challenged in their schools, they're given a pass, it's just like you proceed from the premise they ARE good, so they do not need to be tested to prove they're good!

LOL jackal! You hit the nail right on the head!

Is that so, mallie?!

Law School Admissions / Re: Third Tier Law schools aren't bad

f you intern after your first year for a big law firm that hires 1st or 2d tier law school students you make $2,000 a week, while if you whore yourself to a judge in a circuit court that hires interns from 3d tier law schools you make $12 an hour. That's the difference. It's ingenious, though.

Well, is it not that even the judge himself is probably not making $2,000 a week?

I think judges should get a raise -- State court judges, e.g., don't make more than $120,000 while the kid next door fresh out of law school gets $125,000 the very first month on the job!
