I received an email from the Assistant Dean of Admissions and she said that I could write an addendum regarding my GPA and LSAT. My GPA will go back up after this semester and next because I get to replace an "F" and a "D" on my transcript. I am going to re-take the LSAT in February. I would take it in December, but it will be physically impossible. My only grandparent became ill for no reason about a week before the LSAT. I took testmasters and thought that it would not affect me. She passed away a week after the test ans cancelling was the last thing on my mind. I need a little advice in how to structure my addendum and personal statement to not sound like I am a victim or have a "poor me" attitude. I want to make both of them kick ass. I am not looking to go to a T14 or anything. The school I want to go to is local and has an LSAT average of 154 (mine was a stinking 147!) and the average GPA is an average 3.4 (mine is a 3.14 with both an F and a D, which will be replaced with at least C's, but I am betting on an A and a B) I think that my soft factors are pretty good.
7 years of military experience
Iraqi war vet
Intern for Congresswoman Bono
Briefed President of South Korea as well as the Secretary of the Air Force
Worked either 1 or 2 full time jobs during my undergrad
First to graduate college in my family
Anyways, I am lost as far as my personal statement and my addendum.
Any suggestions will be gladly appreciated. I want to get this right because at this point in my life, it is Fall 2009 or bust!
Also, I want to figure out how to get the point across that this school is my only choice.
