Incoming 1Ls / Re: The "Who would win in a fight..." Thread!!!

Not surprisingly Karl Marx is screwing up what could be a mildly entertaining thread. Those dam Commies just can't stand for anybody to have any fun.

We have lots of fun waiting in line for bread.  Sometimes I take the 40 pairs of one-size-fits-all shoes I own and devise crude games of strength and skill.

LOL @ both commments.

Who would win in a fight, Karl Marx or Adam Smith?

A poster who is having trouble with her connection umm right, asked me to post this:
Ok well, I wasn’t going to share, but I have a thing for thugs.  My idea of a good man is 6’2 – 6’ 4” hunk of dark chocolate.  I’d call him ‘D’ for Delicious ‘cause he carries big things if you know what I mean.  He should live in his momma’s house that way when we move in we can save money on rent and buy me a bus pass to I can get to work when he can’t borrow his friend’s car.  He has to be disease-free, however, pimp experience is a plus.   It doesn’t matter if he is rich or poor, out or in, or doing five to ten.    He does have to show em how to move in a room full of vultures; boy’s credit needs to be banging—at least a 350.  Ganja only-nough said, although when its time to party he can lean back and do the rock away.   Not stingy with the malt liquor.  Interested in hitting the clubs at a moment’s notice.  He needs to be built; should have taken full advantage of the exercise time he was allowed in juvey.  Old school Black Panther—when we go into McDs he will only allow us to be served by a white man.  Gots to be a mentor, teaching ‘urban youth’ how to escape desperate situations.  Must dress like rbg; I don’t want his clothes to be too tight.

LMAO...You're killin me with that line.  ;D ;D ;D

Thanks for the perspectives everyone.

Pearl, that's a good point about not having pressure both from school and on the homefront.  I could imagine how much living with someone during law school, but not really living with them, could strain a relationship.

You're right Professor.  If it's meant to be it will be.

I haven't made a decision, but this has definitely helped me think through some stuff.

How 'great' is 'great'?

I will be facing a similar quandary, but I assume that all the schools I get into will be T20, so it's not really that big a deal. Even if I, say, follow my bf to Cornell instead of going to Harvard, it won't be a big deal if we break up. Cornell is still a good school. So, I ask again: how good are the two schools we're talking about, and how close together are they in ranking?

It's between UCLA and Boalt.

Black Law Students / Relationships and Choosing a Law School...

Right now I'm trying to choose between two great law schools.  Picking one would allow me to continue living with my girlfriend, while selecting the other would require me to move about 400 miles away.  My heart says stay, my gut says go.  Any thoughts, advice, etc.?

Looks like white people are going crazy as it gets down to the wire. I reckon more and more of these boards will pop up this year. Hey, what are you guys doing to remember my Morehouse brother, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.?

He said: "I have a dream....that one day, white folk will shut the #@!* up about getting into law school, and realize that they have all the advantages that anyone could possibly have in a white man's world. I have a dream.....that one day, black people will stop giving a #@!* about what white people think, and continue to move forward with our goals of going to law school. One day, we can all sing that old negro spiritual....I'm in law school B*tch! Admitted at last! Admitted at last! Thank God Almighty, I'm admitted at last!"

LMAO!!!

I think I should sue be able to Chris Rock because I had the misfortune of watching Pootie Tang.  I'm still traumatized.  Also, I'd like to sue P.Diddy for sabotaging the careers of Carl Thomas, 8 Ball & MJG, New Edition, Black Rob, etc.

LOL!!!  ;D

That's real talk!!!
