Law School Discussion

  I just found out that I was accepted to SMU on Monday. Now I'm deciding between SMU and Tulane. I have to inform Tulane of my decision by this Friday!!! I'm from Fort Worth and would LOVE to be in the DFW area, but beyond that I need to know more about life at SMU law school. so PLEASE, any current students or extremely knowledgable admitted soon-to-be 1Ls, tell me anything you can about what it is like there. I hear it is very different than SMU undergrad. are the students friendly? what is the competitive environment like? Is it easy to meet people and make friends? I heard that they cut the daytime program down to 2 sections instead of three- does anyone know how big the class is supposed to be in the fall?

  ARe the students friendly there? Was it easy to meet people (or did you already know people before you started classes?)? What is the competitive environment like? WHat do you know about career services at SMU law (i've heard they are really weak there)? Have you encountered plenty of good professors? What are the weakest aspects or any dislikes that you have about SMU law?

Yes, I recieved an acceptance call on Monday morning at 9:45am. I'm not sure if they are calling everyone- but I do know that they are for sure sending out all letters by this Friday

If I were only concerned with prestige, then I'd write-off SMU and just go to one of the top 25 schools that i've been accepted to. I'd like to be in the DFW area, so THATS why i'm awaiting SMU's response.
   Nice cowboy hat though- Tech will suit you nicely. The only thing more annoying than threads that duplicate previous topics, are douches like you that use threads to act like a jerk.
