It is really expensive!!!! I called schools last year and asked them for conditional admittances... I am applying to CLEO again..

Wow, which schools did you call, and did they grant the conditional admittances?

I informed my schools of my CLEO acceptance and intent to attend. But I'd feel a lot better about spending the 2k knowing that I have a law school to go to when I complete the program, as I haven't been accepted anywhere yet.

I highly disagree with the advice given here. I have a very dear friend who got into GA State's full time program with a GPA lower than yours, a 151 LSAT and no Master's degree. She was also a non-trad w/ a spouse & kids your same age at the time....

Don't listen to the nay-sayers. Go ahead and apply, and sell yourself to the Adcoms. My friend said most of her classmates had Master's degrees. She was one of the few without one. Looks like you have a lot going for you.

Best wishes to you. ;)

That's great, but was she a URM? That would make a big difference. If she wasn't, then she must have had one heck of a personal statement, or cured cancer, because she was almost certainly a presumptive denial.

All you have to do is look at Georgia State's data on LSAC and see that there's not much of a chance to get in purely based on the OP's stats. However, a few people in his range were admitted. That being said, it overwhelming percentages are against him.

But you never know. The OP should go ahead an apply. A 3.7 masters GPA is nothing to scoff at.

Yes, she is a URM, sure it was a boost, but I doubt it was a HUGE boost in her case, living in this part of the country. And no, she did not have any spectacular soft factors. She wasn't involved at her undergrad, had no community involvement and was your average working mother.

OP, if you can sell yourself and set yourself apart from the rest of the pack, you def have a shot. And again, GSU likes nontrads with master's degrees. From what little inside info I have about the school, You may have a shot at PT if you applied early.

With all that said, if you earned a 151 LSAT w/ no prep, you definitely need to do some prep and retake. It sounds daunting, but its better than sending out two rounds of apps with slim chances of getting into law school anywhere decent (speaking from experience).

You can be realistic about your chances at a given school, but at the end of the day, no one here can tell you what your chances are. You, like everyone else here can look at numbers and stats all day long, but you posted your question on this board to get some insight beyond the stats on LSAC or wherever else.

So just go ahead and apply and give it your best shot. For some schools it is almost entirely a numbers game (Although I think GSU is one of them). Others care slightly more about the person.

I found some additional info on CLEO here, though I don't know how up to date it is...

http://www.napla.org/Notes11-99.htm#cleo

I saw that people had questions about admissions criteria for CLEO. Here is a direct quote from the website:

"Although CLEO is extremely liberal with respect to academic eligibility, it is unlikely that a student with a LSAT score and GPA below 140 and 2.5 would be selected without a strong recommendation from a CLEO MSSI"(Member Schools and Supporting Institutions).

This is not on topic, but who is the woman in your profile pic?

Stacey Dash, an actress, you probably remember her from Clueless.

I consider her my celeb twin.

Lol. :D

I got in last cycle. So I think the rejection was because I didn't matriculate. I was on the fence about attending, and when I talked to the dean, I told him I was interested in other schools like GSU and was thinking about reapplying. Maybe I gave him too much information...so perhaps they felt I wouldn't attend if offered admission again.

I only applied again because the Dean invited me to reapply, and I visited and could see myself there if no one else would have me. But really, it would have been a last resort, and Alabama is the last place I'd want to live anyway. So I'm OK with it.

very new school, so not a lot of connections.  Very high tuition for that kind of uncertainty.  If you can muster the couple points, I would go to Ga. State instead b/c it is a Much better school!

TITCR-I would attempt to get into Georgia State before going here.  There are people in Atlanta that are unfamiliar with the school if that says anything.

Agree with the bolded.
