I have a 2 year old laptop computer and it works great, so I'm probably going to keep it throughout law school, but I have a question about taking notes in class. How long does the average class last? Is it about 50 minutes like in undergraduate?? Because I'd rather just buy maybe one more battety for my laptop as a backup in case my original battery goes dead in class.
Has anyone had experience with this? Do a lot of students' batteries seem to go dead in class or do they let you plug your laptop in during class? Because in brochures I see EVERYONE with a laptop computer in class. If your battery does go dead is it possible to take good notes by hand or do professors just talk too fast to do that???
How about during tests?? Anybody ever had a computer battery go dead during an exam?? I think that's my worst nightmare. Any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I will be starting as a 1L at Vanderbilt this fall but I still want to try to transfer to my number one choice for law school which is Georgetown. Has anyone had any experience with transferring to Georgetown? If so, what were your numbers and what school did u come from? It seems like if my grades are pretty good it shouldn't be too difficult to transfer to Georgetown from Vandy since they are ranked so closely together. Is that the case??? Plus I doubt if too many people at top 14 schools would transfer down to Georgetown. Also, has anyone had any experience with transferring to Columbia, Yale, Northwestern or University of Chicago? Do these schools have the same policy as Harvard whereas in order to transfer you should have been at least a competitive candidate for admission to Harvard when you were in undergraduate? ANY info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I'd like to get some feedback on what you guys think about my situation. I've got a $15,000 a year scholarship at Tulane, and I haven't gotten my aid package from Vandy yet, but I don't think I'm going to get too much money. Both schools cost about $30,000 a year, but with Tulane, I'd only have to pay $15,000 a year for tuition, so it would save me nearly $50,000 over 3 years.
My career goal is to practice at a large firm, preferably in NY or DC. I know at Vandy if I graduate near the top I can get a job like that, but there's no guarantee that I will be at the top of my class. On the other hand, at Tulane, where the competition is probably not quite as fierce, I might have a better chance of graduating at the top of my class and getting a top NY job. What do you all think?? And if anyone can tell me something about Tulane graduates and their chances for getting good jobs. The people at Tulane tell me that lots of NY and Houston firms recruit there, but I wanted to get some feedback from others. Thanks.
