Finally got Sophia across country. It was so stressful (all around), but she's a very brave kitty. She's settling in, and once I'm unpacked she'll realize this is where we're living now, and start thinking of it as her territory. (She's already rubbing incessantly).
I'm really just so glad to be able to have her here. Law school will be so stressful; it's so wonderful to have something lovely and loving to return home to. 5

Using USPS media rate, a 40lb box of books costs about $16 to ship, including delivery confirmation and insurance. Just don't have any illusions about it getting there quickly - and use plenty of packing tape and very sturdy boxes.

I am currently in the midst of my SECOND cross-country move (first was Boston to LA 3 years ago, now it's LA to NYC).
Here's a trick that I've learned: ship all books, CDs, DVDs via USPS media rate - super cheap. But for everything else that you can put in a box and send (definitely better than hiring a mover if you can) - FedEx Ground is usually cheapest. 10
General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Re: Have you read 'Getting to Maybe'?« on: July 14, 2005, 12:02:28 PM »
I read through Getting to Maybe. It's definitely something I will need to read again...and again...once the semester starts. It's definitely dense and there's a lot to pick through and remember, but once it all starts making sense (when applied to our own actual, rather than theoretical, learning) I think it will make my life SO much easier.
