Law School Discussion

Hey Mattb23, I think you are living proof of the difference between xoxo and LSD posters   making your decision based on quality of life, etc. rather than rankings.  Like you, I was blown away by the Admit Weekend (although curiously enough, no one seems to be discussing it here).  Weather was rainy but warm, people were open and friendly, and for those who care, not bad looking either.  The students were smiling and HAPPY.  Happiness at law school, who would ever have thought it was possible?

And Cville was actually quite lovely.  It's such a perfect environment for focusing on studies and just relaxing for a change.  At first I thought I would need to shift in competitive gear, but now I see myself cooperating and having a social life.  I can see us actually enjoying our law school experience and looking back on it fondly 

The e-mail of withdrawal; is it not a beautiful thing?  I think of all the schools, Cornell has really been stringing people along.  I understand that they have a small class, but wouldn't you almost rather just be put on a wait list or rejected?  This half-nowhere situation is unbearable.

I applied to the dual degree program...and MY LETTER said that waitlisted applicants weren't ranked either.  So, maybe someone misread something...or I'm just a reject....

I didn't misread anything.  I received one letter for the waitlist and a second letter for the priority waitlist.  Ranking means rigidly placing people on a list in order of preference (I'm assuming), so having two separate waitlists doesn't necessarily constitute ranking.  The two lists can still be fluid. 

It is too bad we don't have another person with whom to compare    I assume that this is because there are not many people on the pw?  I'm in the dark as much as you guys are.

Somebody please help me as I'm desperate right now.  I went to decision on the UVA status check yesterday but have not yet received a packet.  And when I went to the admitted students' website, I was able to log in.  When you are admitted are you able to access the site immediately?  And does this mean that I'm almost certainly in?
