I dunno if Capote came close to showing homosexuality in a positive light... I mean, basically, he was a schemer and a bit of a scumbag, and he fell in love with another scumbag. Plus, the movie changed key facts from the book, and I had a problem with that.
Personally, I thought PSH was better in MI:3. At least there, the act was a stretch. 4

See, this is where the issue of race becomes cloudy.
If an individual exhibits a racial stereotype, is it an unfair stereotype? If a member of a race/sex/cultural group identifies a common trait in that group, is it an unfair stereotype? Pointing out that Middle Eastern cab drivers are less likely to pick up black fares isn't a racist statement, it's a statement with a pretty decent backing in fact. My wife rails on and on about women drivers, which I chastise her for. However, there are lots of differences between differening races, sexes, and cultures. To deny this is sheer lunacy- but to point them out... racism? The "Crash" characters were so ridiculously racist, these subtle questions were left unasked. 7

Dang. Well, this is the Valley, maybe I can find some adult film stars to go down.... er, come down... um, nevermind. Besides, they might not be much for conversation.
I thought Brit was in Burbank? That might be a possibility... it's sad that gas prices are so horrific I'm scraping for car-mates. Currently I'm going to bring some Mike's or Smirnoff and some burgers... and maybe some sausages and Eggs o' the Devil. Is anyone bringing lettuce/onions/mayo/that kind of thing? |
