Transferring / Re: Transferring: Class Rank
« on: January 22, 2006, 05:17:10 AM »
Don't any of you feel sort of cheated?  I mean, I believed in the rankings at first, chose my school based on that (and money) so went here...  but its BS.  really.  I am completely underwhelmed with my company.  And while i did pretty well this semester, it doesnt make me like it any more... half these kids have never worked, they try to use big words that they dont understand when they speak just so they can SOUND like they know what they are talking about.
its bizarre.
I would rather go back to where I have non-lawyer friends to keep me sane and be in a 2nd tier school.  It just seems like they literally lie to us to make us think its different- but its not.  1st tier, 2nd, 3rd,whatever. either way you can pass the bar.

i am really interested if anyone else feels the same way.

Studying and Exam Taking / e-casebriefs?
« on: September 09, 2005, 01:56:50 AM »
I know that the reason we write briefs in the first place is to know what to look for...

but do you think it is worth it to buy them as a supplement?

anyone tried them and have opinions on them?

Blake might as well quit...
despite my undying love for blake's genius during the jawbreaker era (and the first album of JTB- which was pretty much leftover Jawbreaker stuff and explains why it kicked so much arse), he got soft and I SWEAR he found jesus...

which sort of freaks me out.

After i heard the second album i kinda lost a lot of respect for him, as did a lot of the other fans from what i can tell.

It was almost time for them to break up in a way.  Hopefully he will come back to the dark side, stop writing songs with underlying jesus themes, and whoop some indie ass again in the near future.

just to play devil's advocate...

i don't think that makes sense JUST because there are FARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR fewer people graduating from davis than there are from loyola.  davis is, after all, one of the smallest schools in california (and if i am not mistaken THE smallest... not sure tho).  so when you have 400 or more students then yeh, you will see a lot more loyola kids.  But davis students do tend to spread out as well, whereas Loyola kids are way more likely to stay in town.  does that mean Davis has less pull in LA?  no.  I just think you need to put it in perspective is all.

said thing is- it wasnt his mom on trial.  A lot of people have f-d up parents, but it doesnt mean they werent molested.

sigh.

its so crazy how stuuuuuuuuupid the prosecution was.  He is still guilty though, and i think they could have had a case if they didnt go out of their way to alienate the jurora by bringing his dumbass mom in

Have you found housing yet?  That is the only major downside (besides not being in or near LA) that I have found with it.

PS-

I wanted to address what I said about the administration.  I think that if the dean who left had any respect or love for the school, he would not have been as obvious as he was about leaving for UCLA.  The rest of the faculty was nice, but kind of seemed like it was just a job, they did not really strike me as overly helpful or excited to meet students.

When I met the davis faculty, they were much more approachable, helpful, and flat out NICE.  It could be because they are country folk, who knows (kidding),  but yeh, I look forward to going into office hours to talk with them.
There are also so few students, that the teach to student ratio is MUCH smaller.  I like that they will know my name, and that everyone is so community-oriented.  I didnt see anything like that at any other schools.
thought it was worth it to mention.
