Most students at Suffolk are interested in corporate law. As someone interested in public interest law, I mainly know about the opportunities at Suffolk related to it.

Also, Northeastern is much more public interest focussed.

No, its not impossible. The curve requires that a few people get A's. I'm not sure who got A's in my classes and who didn't. Its not something that is ever really discussed.

I don't have an answer for you regarding how many 1L's got big firm jobs, but I doubt its unheard of it. Everyone that I know has some type of legal position for the summer.

Sorry I could not provide you with more information.

Hello again,

Suffolk and the other Boston-area law schools hold a Government and Public Interest Job Fair, which many 1L's participate in. I got a paid job through this, in February. There are also various recruitment programs.

Most people I know have summer jobs, many of which are paid. In addition, Suffolk offers many funding options to those interested in public interest.

Hope this helps...

Hi,

I am a 1L at Suffolk. The professors there are super nice for the most part. That being said, the forced curve is horrible. While many of them don't particularly like it, it is mandatory, so they have to adhere to it. Notwithstanding this curve, the students remain very nice to one another, and are not outwardly competitive.

As for job prospects, Suffolk has a great alumni network, especially in the Boston-area. Many top government officials are Suffolk grads which helps!

Hope this helps!

I am not completely sure, but from what I've observed, it doesn't seem to be a problem.  Suffolk is well known in the Boston area.  For what its worth, I got a summer job the first week in February.

Hope this helps!

Wait List / Re: Suffolk Wait List

No, I don't know anyone in the office - if I did, I wouldn't have been initially waitlisted. Sorry I can't be of more help!

Yes, the Dean called me on Tuesday! I got the acceptance packet in the mail the next day.

Also worth noting, and as I posted the other day, I interviewed with the Dean last Wednesday. Additionally, I recently submitted an alumni reccommendation.

Hope this helps. Good luck all!!
