Law School Admissions / Re: Will this hurt my chances?

Just be sure to contact the bar first to find out. That's all that matters. With that said, I had a juvie record too and a couple cop buddies of mine did an extensive BG search for me and none of those records were available to them. They could not tell I was arrested as a teen. This is in the state of California. That's just a side note and has no bearing on your status, just thought I'd throw it out there.

Amazing tips, thank you so much! I'm all over it and will be using several of your suggestions. :)

Law School Admissions / steps

Is there a general timetable for when the study, take lsat then apply should take place? I mean, is there a standard timetable of all events leading up to accepting admission into LS. I'm looking to plan out the entire process from beginning to end but can't seem to find a good breakdown of when certain steps should take place (in general). Thanks.

I want to start with 3 months of intensive LSAT study, so when should that start ideally? Considering I also want to make sure I have the ability to do the 3 months of study again for a re-take if needed? beginning of Junior year?

I was told it most definitely matters. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks. :)

Anyone ever run into problems when it came to the credit check during your background check? I have a 540 credit score which is abysmal. However I'm working on it now and will be able to show the payments I'm making to pay it off.

Have any of you had problems with the bar, the school or LSAC when it came to your credit? Thanks!

Law School Admissions / Re: old transcripts?

They want High School transcripts!? But those grades never make the report to the LS do they? I thought the only factor in the GPA was the undergrad. Are you saying they also average in my High School grades? That's insane.

Thanks a bunch for your help. :)

So, let's just say I forget to turn in an old transcript from a JC 20 years ago. How does LSAC know or find out about that JC. Again, I would NEVER withold information, just curious how they would find out about it.

Will LSAC request transcripts from a junior college I attended over 15 years ago? I mean, it was only for two semesters and I did terribly there so I would much rather keep it from them and just give them the junior college and university I did well at later in my life.

I assume there's no getting around this? Do they automatically get those transcripts or is there a way to "hide" them? I'm NOT trying to be unethical here, I will do whatever they require. If they must see them, then I will send them. Just trying to figure out if I absolutely have to share those.

Thanks for all the help guys. Where can I find a list of California accredited schools as you guys have mentioned? I looked around and can't seem to find a comprehensive breakdown of each school that is not ABA in California. I'd like to research all my options. Thanks again!
