You can still probably get decent jobs even with C's, right? Like at smaller firms...

Yes, focus on torts.  It's not as simple/easy as it seems.  I came out of my first torts exam (about 2 months ago) thinking I aced it, and ended up with a solid C, 79%.  I just finished my torts midterm last night, 3 hours, but only 2 essays. Thank god I had no multiple choice but it was still a race horse.

I'm not a law student yet, but isn't a C in law school supposed to be bad?  ???

Hmm..Would it be safe to say that part-time evening programs are generally like half the work??

What's interesting is that I called my own school (where I will be going part-time next year as well) and they told me half the class typically works full-time. To me, that seems like it is A LOT easier than a full-time program if people can pull that off as well as study.

I was wondering if anyone could give me any suggestions on how to plan out my law school years considering I am primarily interested in Criminal defense. What kind of summer jobs should I look into, what would you recommend I do in terms of organizations + networking, beneficial classes to take + any other tips would be very appreciated! Thanks.

OK you all are seriously starting to confuse me. The last poster is correct, I am interested ONLY in post-JD jobs and the relevance of undergrade grades. Specifically, how and if small/mid-sized firms look at the grades one received in undergrad? Or is this not a yes/no kind of answer?? (What I'm assuming at this point).

Where should I go next fall? / Re: St. John's pt?

Also, I am not sure if this makes a difference, but my index there is a 3.0 and it seems like everyone with a 3.0 or higher (even some 2.9's and below) have been accepted this year into the part-time program, according to LSN.

Does anyone here have any information regarding the pt program and the difficulty of getting in? I am applying straight from undergrad, but have decent work experience. I want to send them a follow-up letter expressing my continued interest tomorrow morning.

I wanted to bump this thread. Anyone still pending? I have been patiently awaiting their decision since November, hope I can sneak in part time. Apparently, today is a big day because of the seat deposit.

Do they even look at the undergrad grades or just law school grades? Do the undegrad grades matter much?

(I'm talking about small firms mostly, MAYBE mid-sized)..

but in general, i didnt do so well and had some question marks during my undergrad in terms of grades. is this bad?

Hey guys, I was actually referring to law jobs AFTER I obtain my JD, not 1L/2L summer employment. I just want to know if employers of small/mid-sized firms generally ask for Undergrad grades when someone with a JD is applying for a job at their firm AND if those grades have any importance of if the actual law grades are all that matter?

Perhaps they don't even ask for Undergrad grades because (in my opinion) they really don't have ANY significance at all. All they are good for is to get into a law school and after that, it's ALL about the law school course grades. At least that's how I see it.
