Ha, I'm an URM and still waiting to hear from 7 or so schools I applied to in early November.

Like someone said, there arent enough URMs on LSN to even make that general assumption.

I called a school today to see if my application was complete (I applied back in November but never heard anything). And the lady on the phone gave me alot more info than I had expected. She looked at my LSAT and GPA and told me where I was compared to all the other applicants. She said that applications had gone up for this year and that this cycle is more competitive than in the past 3 years.

She looked and saw that I had been complete for a long time and said that she was going to move my application to the top to send it on to the committee. She basically told me that I would probably be waitlisted (surprised I wouldnt be flat out auto-rejected with my numbers) and if I didnt hear anything in the next 3 weeks, to call back and I'll get a decision then.
Yeah, soooo wasnt expecting that much.

So I guess calling doesnt hurt.

How does one even get in touch with an adcomm?  Anytime I called a school, I just called the admissions office to check on the status of my application.  I'm pretty sure the person that answers just works there and is not one of the people who will be evaluating applications.

Awww thanks for the words of encouragement. Yeah, Im pretty sure that I can score at least 150+ this time around. Enrolling in a prep course in April.
Hopefully I can start Spring 2006 instead of waiting for the fall.  6 months off from school would do me good anyway.  :)

You can do better than 145; no worries. June LSAT; 1 year more until law school, no big deal.

Rejected today- 3.34/145/URM.

Meh, its ok, they were only provisionally accredited and the app was free to apply... :-\

At this point in the game, I'm probably going to re-take the LSAT in June and see what happens then.

Toledo is actually free if you apply thru their website

I'm not sure what you mean by certification letter, but I applied thru their website and they didnt ask for anything like that.

I really bombed the LSAT.
145/3.36/URM.
So as you can see, I'm shocked they didnt auto-reject me.

Good, I hope theres more lazy people like you out there! hehe I'm j/k. ;D
This may be my only chance to go to a tier 2 school so Im going to do every little annoying thing they ask for.

I got the same packet, I'm prob gonna be too lazy to reply to it though since Arky was just a "hey its free" type application.........

But I think getting the packet is a good thing, they just wanna screen out all the people like me.......

May I ask what your stats are? Definately do your best on whatever material that you're submitting.

Good luck.

I got a thick envelope today from Arkansas-Fayetteville saying that I dont qualify for their index admission, but for me to send them a personal statement, resume, and why I want to go to their school for further consideration.

Is this like being deferred?  Has anyone else received this?

I'm definitely dont have the scores for a tier 1 or 2 school, so this came as a shock. I thought that I would be an auto-reject, but apparently not.

Does this sound like I have a chance?
