2L job search / Firm Christmas Party
« on: November 21, 2008, 06:17:08 PM »
I just got invited to my summer firm's Christmas party.  Any thoughts on whether I'm expected to be there?

So far this is pretty discouraging.  Although they seemed pretty organized to me.

Did you clerk there?  Do you know why they didn't make offers?

I'm considering summering at these firms.  Does anyone have any insight on their experience?

I would focus more on the resume being readable.  Paragraphs tend to bog employers down.  They want to glance at the resume and get a good idea about what you offer them from a brief perusal.  Use bullet points and try to make the descriptions of your responsibilities as brief as possible.  Good luck.

Couple quick suggestions:

1) Make him Mr. Doe, Esq.

2) His title could be a number of things.  Most likely Managing Partner.  Or maybe Shareholder.  It just depends on the firm.  Check his website.

Good luck.

I grew up there.  Thought a local opinion would help.  Didn't realize you were omniscient.

I don't agree that being gay is bad.  But the analysis on 2L man is otherwise correct.
