Personal Statements, Resumes, and Letters of Recommendation / addendum?
« on: October 22, 2009, 08:21:16 PM »
I read somewhere any explanation about shortcoming in you GPA is helpful.

My GPA is 3.75 but I have one C+ at my last semester and I have good explanation for that.

Should I write addendum?

I'm worried that it might make my resume look bad.

I'll appreciate your advice.

Law School Admissions / Money
« on: February 19, 2009, 06:10:15 PM »
I have no money. That's right.

I never had and I probably won't if I pursue what I do now.

But I always had this dream to go to lawschool and help others more professionally.

More importantly, I'm a foreigner and I heard that there is practically no chance to

get a loan for a foreigner.

Luckily, my GPA is 3.75 and I think I can get above 175 in my LSAT

since I get more than that on my prep test (within the time limit).

I really want to do this.

Is there any way that I can go to a good school?

Loan or scholarship... I don't care.

thanks.

I went my second school after I graduated from the first.

Damm. I wish I studied harder in my first school.

I guess I just need to concentrate on LSAT.

But can I send my second school's grade sheet anyway?

If there is any way to let them see it, I want to

cause my second school's GPA is perfet 4.33.

Law School Admissions / A question about double undergraduate degrees.
« on: January 17, 2009, 07:06:51 PM »
I have two undergraduate dgrees in two different schools.

I read 'LSAT and LSDAS Information Book (PDF)'

and in the list of 'Grades Excluded From Conversion',

there is 'Those awarded after the first undergraduate degree was received.'.

Does it mean that only grades from my first undergraduate school are included for GPA conversion?

If so, why? I don't understand.

If anybody knows for sure, please educate me. This thing is killing me.

That's exactly what I'm talking about.

I don't want to be a gay girl screaming gay rights.

But it is big part of me and why I became who I am.

There is no gay man on the surface in my country but there are so many gay students commit suicide.

I just want to do what I can do.

I wasn't afraid to come out to my parents but this personal statement is harder than I thought.

I'm a foreigner and my country is conservative.

I want to study about human right and become a person who speaks for minorities.

The thing is I'm a lesbian and it is one of the big reason why I want to study the law.

Should I write that I'm a lesbian or not?

I'm afraid that I could be descriminated

and I don't think people will welcome another lesbian from foreign country.

I need your opinion. It's killing me.
