Current Law Students / Debt Settlement sit for Bar exam?
« on: February 14, 2010, 11:10:09 PM »
Would using a debt settlement company to help with 30k in credit card debt prevent one from sitting for the bar in any states? Particularly California, New York, and Florida?

I know you can't scam people when cleaning their carpets, but have no idea about this. Besides having bad credit, would this make me not eligible to take the bar?

Studying for the LSAT / hard test, harsh scale
« on: June 04, 2008, 07:47:01 AM »
anyone know which prep test are considered to be the hardest?  I suppose I can just look at the scales in the back to see which has the harshest scale. I am looking for a challenge. Thanks.

How long did it take everyone to get a response after going complete?

I will be applying for the next cycle and was curious as to how everyone else choose the schools they wanted to apply to and are attending.

I currently have a 159 LSAT and UGPA of 3.3.  By next cycle I will have a grad school degree and hopefully retaken the lsat with a 162-167 score.  I also have $60,000 for school and the rest would have to be paid by scholarship or loan.

I don't really have any career goals in mind now.  I am not set on BIGLAW or turned off buy it.  I would like to maybe get a job where I worked a normal amount of hours and wasn't as horrible as some discribe there first couple years. I don't know if this is realistic or not however.

As far as scholarships go, how do they work?  I see some are based on grades and some or guaranteed?  Are they applied for separately or do schools just throw money at you with an acceptance letter from your current application?  Also I also see a number of posts, "should I go here for free or here for full tuition..." What type of logic is used in these decisions?

Sorry for the newbish, loaded post.  I can't find the search on the forum.

Law School Admissions / Re: Law school D1 Football?

Perhaps my question was not understood.  I am currently on scholarship and have lettered at the school in question, and am graduating at the end of my third year of school.  The question wasn't can I, it was has anyone else ever done it.  I have already talked to my academic advisor and coaches.

Well my schools in the top hundred, but not the top 10  ;D

I have been looking around.  I don't want to say that I would be the first if it is not true.  I am sure however that it is extremely rare.

Law School Admissions / Law school D1 Football?
« on: February 03, 2008, 05:56:36 PM »
Has anyone ever heard of someone going to law school and competing in Division 1 football at the same time?

EDIT:  I am on scholarship at a D1 school.
I am graduating with 1 to 2 years of NCAA eligibility.
I am applying to our law school with consent from my coach.

The question was asked as I wanted to know if anyone has ever done this before.  Not if it could be done.
