I was wondering if anyone knows schools that have special minority programs that will accept minorities. I am an Albanian male attending fordham with a 3.6 in sociology..I have alot of research experiences and am working towards publishing an article in a major sociological journal. One of my problems is that i do not do well on standarized tests. my family of 3 makes 12,000 a year so yea i am economically diadvantaged. I wanted to know if anyone has found programs such as the Seton Hall LEO program, that might give me an opportunity to prove myself.

thanks for the advice jacy85 but my harsh comments were not directed at you...its very difficult to get a job in NYC if you are not coming from Fordham Columbia, NYU or cornell...i think all the other schools are pretty much equal (hofstra pace st johns and buffalo) i agree that buffalo might not be the best city but i mean I'll get used to it. If you think about it theres so many kids that come out of the NYC schools looking for jobs and they will only take the top 10% from every school. Buffalo is definately cheaper and the job prospects cant be any worse than coming from hofstra, pace, or st johns. The reason why people dont apply 2 buffalo because its prolly far away and everyone wants to be close to the city. i see buffalo as an advantage because theres nothing to do but study for 3 years. I work for a guy in wall street who graduated from New York Law school making 500,000 as a solo practicioner and he says the name will get you your first job but your work ethic will get you the second and third..meaning the school can only hook u up so many times...but i appreciate everyone's help and i dont mean to jump at anyone's throat but frankly i am a little tired at the "its not going to law school if it isn't harvard"...I think some of us need to reevaluate the reason we are going to law schools and stop being such name brand whores.

i want to work in NYC and the reason why i am thinking of chosing buffalo is because its literally the same as stjohns hofstra, pace and nyls but withot so much financial hardships..im looking to work for the DA's office and then leave to become a defense attorney..i mean i realize that it will be hard but i think its worth a journey...plus if i can't find a job i could always gointo teaching...i mean would people say buffalo is a wise choice instead of the other schools in NY is what i am asking..Obviously i do not have the lsat number or otherwise i would not be considering buffalo..alot of people in this site always talk about top14 but many realize that there are some who dont have the numbers, and it gets annoying sometimes when people think that people go 2 become lawyers so they can graduate from harvard to make 125K..as a matter of fact fuk harvard all they do is recycle douchebags that opress the shyt out of all of us, they are apart of a hierchy and continue to suppport it...but thanks for the continued advice..sorry i went on a tantrum

I've been looking at schools lately and since i live in NYC i have been looking at stjohns, brooklyn, cardozo, pace, and hofstra....I realized that i can only go 2 fordham undergraduate because my lsat score is not there yet, plus their facilities suck and they should make you pay half for going to class in that crappy building anyway...ANYWAYS! i wanted to know what people thought of buffalo in comparison to say stjohns and pace and hofstra...i really dont like dozo...i would never go 2 a place that the library closes on saturdays..no way...

I am an Albanian male who came to the U.S in 1995 due to political persecution. My income is very low and am in a HEOP program at a private university. I wanted to know do law schools consider Albanians being a minority?
