Your points may be valid. However, I don't think adding a letter to your file would bump you to the bottom of the pile. It could perhaps bring it back up, make them dust it off and take a good long look at it again (or for the first time). Remeber sincerity is key.

I'm between UC Davis and CU Boulder. I think I'm leaning towards Davis because of family, bf, friends etc. Plus I've been working at a firm in Sacramento for the last year and made a lot of really good contacts. I love colorado though, so we'll see.
For what it's worth, my cousin went to William and Mary and now works in Dallas making an ungodly amount of money. For Texas, I think there is less of an issue passing the bar than say California or New York. As long as you are a really proactive networker, you should be able to land a job in Texas. |
