Go to UT.  You will most likely get 5K (maybe more) a year from them PLUS some grant money.  If going to the best law school in Texas isn't enough, then remember that Baylor is in Waco and UT is in Austin.  nuff said

Have you received your financial package from Vandy yet?  It could include some need based grants.  It would be worth a call..  I really like both schools but 60K is a big number - it really depends on where you want to work.  Good Luck.

I had the same choice.  I am going to Texas but I grew up in Austin and really want to be able to live there at least three more years!

I love Vandy.  I know I would have been happy there but I'm a Texas girl and in Texas - UT Law is tops (at least in my mind).  Good Luck!

50K is a lot of money but I would chose W & L.  Give them a call and explain that you will be losing apt and LS deposits.  They may help with that.  Fly down and visit Lexington (they may help with that).  Read AspenLizzy's posts, send her a message and talk to her some more.  Good Luck and I bet you will not regret going to W & L - hope you can say the same about FSU.

That means if you do well as a 1L they will look at you again (just like they will look at anyone else who performs their first year) because at that point they get a proven performer that doesn't cost them anything and is thankful for the opportunity to pay full tuition!

It looks like UT not only let you in, they gave you 15k.  Have you received your total package yet?  I bet it will also include grants of about 5K per year.  Let's put this in perspective:  UT is in the heart of Austin and the home of the Longhorns, UH is in a rough part of Houston and the facilities are below par.  UT is ranked 16th or so, UH is ranked 55th.  IMO, the best choice is UT.

My most successful and also my most creative times are when I have an extremely busy schedule. I do not do idle very well.  I think I am going to start out without a job commitment - hopefully I don't just fill my extra time with junk because I really want to keep my debt as low as possible.

Just ended an engagement, but not because of law school.  I sure am going to miss having someone that I care deeply about that also cares for me.  Also going to miss having a best friend, among other things.  NOT going to miss the reasons for the break up.  So very tired of trying to make something work with the wrong person.
