Law School Admissions Workshops For People of Color

For People of Color, Inc. ("FPOC, Inc.") is proud to announce that it will be holding its series of law school admissions workshops for the ninth consecutive year. These workshops have become increasingly popular over the years as they provide a comprehensive overview of the application process. Many attorneys and current law students credit these workshops for providing them the motivation and critical information they required to successfully navigate the law school application process.

Dates & Locations:

September 12, 2009 at Berkeley Law School (Boalt Hall)*

September 19, 2009 at Columbia Law School*

October 3, 2009 at UCLA School of Law*

October 10, 2009 at UC Hastings College of the Law*

October 17, 2009 at UC Davis School of Law (King Hall)**

October 24, 2009 at UC Merced**

Potential Locations:

We are also currently exploring the possibility of holding workshops in Chicago, Atlanta, and/or Washington, D.C.

Speakers:

*Anthony Solana, Jr. is the President & Chairperson of For People of Color, Inc. He is the author of "A Guide to the Law School Application Process For People of Color" and "A Guide to the Bar Examination For People of Color." Anthony is a much sought after motivational speaker and is frequently enlisted to be the keynote speaker at numerous events.

**Norma Nava, Esq. is the Vice President of For People of Color, Inc.  She is the author of "A Guide to the Judicial Clerkship Application Process For People of Color."  Norma recently completed a prestigious fellowship with the ACLU's Drug Law Reform Project. She previously served as a law clerk for the Honorable Oliver W. Wanger, U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of California. Norma graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles School of Law where she was the Co-Chair of La Raza Law Students Association, Managing Editor of the Chicano/Latino Law Review, and served as the Chair of the inaugural board of the National Latina/o Law Students Association.

For People of Color, Inc. and UCLAW's La Raza Law Students Association is holding its annual Law School Admissions Workshop for People of Color on Saturday, October 6, 2007.  The time is TBD.

Anthony Solana, Jr. author of A Guide to the Law School Application Process For People of Color, will provide a comprehensive overview of the law school application process.

Students in attendance will have access to UCLAW students and staff from the Admissions and Financial Aid offices. Panels and workshops will cover all aspects of a successful application, from the LSAT to personal statements and resumes.
