General Board / Re: Journal Choices
« on: July 14, 2009, 09:31:27 PM »
Could you give us a hint as to what school you go to (region, tier...anything)? Some of us (i.e. me) are waiting to hear back from journals and would like to know if the calls have gone out and we should stop waiting ;).

do you find karl rove to be a hero of yours? just wondering, because you're doing the exact same thing he did back in 2000. nice level to stoop to, i guess.

I wish I would've applied to more reaches and fewer safeties...I fear I might be plagued by "what if's?" for a few months now.

Wowzers. OP, if you're not yanking our collective chain, I'd suggest taking another year off and doing this right. You'll still fit right in age-wise. And you'll want to apply significantly earlier next time around--this September or October.

For basic info about the process, I'd suggest reading Law School Confidential. I had no idea about any of this stuff when I was getting started, and it was very helpful to contextualize the whole process.

You're also going to need to retake the LSAT if you're seriously interested in a UVA-caliber school, let alone higher-ranked than that.

So go work on your book or whatever. But I'd take the year off, and then apply again in September.

TITCR.

I can't believe there is even a debate about this (a five page debate, at that). Clearly, the OP is intelligent enough to do better, w/ prep. Clearly, w/ a higher score, s/he'd have an incredibly impressive app.

Retake the frickin' test.

Law School Applications / Re: Any word from Emory on scholarships?
« on: March 11, 2008, 01:41:04 PM »
Any 3.7/170+ received any scholarship money yet?

Yup--only 75K for some reason. Don't get me wrong, very grateful, but I'm surprised that those w/ lower stats got substantially more money. Definitely be withdrawing, so hopefully some of my $$ goes to y'all.
