Where should I go next fall? / FSU v Temple v Rutgers-Camden v American v Penn State« on: March 13, 2009, 01:18:28 PM »
Choices:
FSU - In-state, no Scholarship Temple - Out-of-State, Sticker Rutgers-Camden - OOS, possibly get in-state first year, 10k/yr with 3.5 GPA American - OOS, Sticker Penn State - OOS, Sticker If admitted: W&L, Sticker, over everything else If admitted: GMU, Sticker, over everything else If admitted: W&M, Sticker, over everything else If admitted: UF, in-state, Sticker, over everything else Waitlisted: W&L, GMU Pending: UF, Villanova, W&M, UPitt Department of Backstory: Currently live and work in Florida, would very much like to get OUT of Florida. However, I am unsure as to if I would like to LIVE INDEFINITELY outside of Florida. I mainly just want to get out so I can figure that out. I have never lived anywhere other than Florida and I am pretty sick of it. But I could go to American and decide, you know I miss flip flops year round I want to be closer to my family. I just don't know yet. Ideally I would work in DC, but if not I would likely just want to come back to Florida. Public Interest/Government is what I am currently interested in (looking into the DOJ honors program and federal clerkships specifically). But that could change since I could take torts and decide I have found my life partner. I don't want to commit myself before I have even take my first class. If you say one of the "If admitted" choices, what would be your next pick from the schools I have actually been admitted to. I just feel like I am missing something obvious, and my own personal hangups keep me from seeing an obvious choice, so thank you for your opinions! 6
Law School Applications / Re: Schools that take a long time to reach a decision« on: February 20, 2009, 06:55:06 PM »I sent in my apps in late December and they were complete in early October. WAT? I think you may have flipped those months... Since you are in UF's Priority pool you should hear back within the next few weeks. What does your status check say? What about FSU's? FSU's turnaround was really quick for me, and I know they were waitlisting some people today. Since you are borderline I'd submit a LOCI to your top choices. 7

Why either or? They aren't expensive books, and it is not like there is much else to do for an 0L summer

LSAC and LSDAS / Re: Money« on: February 19, 2009, 08:22:24 PM »I have no money. That's right. This is a very odd post. The answer is yes. You can apply for LSDAS and LSAT waivers and that'll take some of the costs down. Don't assume your score ... ever. Prep Tests /= Actual LSAT. Make application decision when you get your actual LSAT score back. Once you start applying you will possibly get fee waivers to schools, especially if you do as well as your think you will. You can also ask to have the application fee waived if they don't offer it on their own. 9

Where should I go next fall? / Re: What is so bad about FL Coastal?« on: February 18, 2009, 04:41:46 PM »
Various Assistant State Attorneys come from everywhere. Emory, W&M, FIU, South Texas, Stetson, UF, Vermont. The standards based on tier of school alone are pretty low. Just make the most of that Tier 4 school and come out on top.
