I am pretty lucky, because my section if pretty cool, but for what is worth, my neighbour, who is a 2L was telling me that it took her a few months before she met people that she clicked with. Now, they make a point to go out for dinner one night a week and brunch once a week.
Its still early - you will meet people that you will bond with. As for the loneliness, I agree, join a club - maybe try and get involved with the graduate students association somehow, so its not just law students you hang around.

So is everyone else still up for the Blue Tusk at 7?
Biolawgirl, sorry to hear that you are not going to be able to make it.

Finally got internet - woo hoo!
Biolaw girl - you'll be fine! Plus, you can come visit me in Segdewick/Eastwood - pretty chill area - lots of old people.

Blue Tusk sounds cool to me. With 69 beer on tap, I am sure there will something to suit everyone.
ttiwed - how does your reputation decrease? (or even increase, for that matter.)

7 sounds like a good time to me.
I briefly walked around Armory Square when I was in Syracuse in June, but I don't really remember that much. One place that looked okay was Kitty Hoyne's, an irish pub, however I am not picky and if anyone has a place they are keen to go to, that's cool.

I am living in Rugby Square Apartments, which is James and Teall area, near Eastwood, which is north east Syracuse. Someone mentionned on this board that it was far and the rush hour traffic is bad - which may be true, but I am sure it won't compare to Toronto traffic ... and I'll just tune out to my ipod anyways!
Where is Clarendon? Is it close to school? When I was looking in early June, I remember calling, but they were already sold out one bedroom apartments.

Not to sound too cheesy, but I am starting to get excited.
I am not familiar with the area, but it seems like there are some nice places in the Armory Square area where we could do drinks on the Friday?
Another question - are any of you inviting your parents to the opening ceremony thing at Hendrick's Chapel?

Good luck to all the apartment hunters.
I know that ttiwed originally posted this a way back, but is anyone interested in getting together maybe the week/weekend before orientation.
I am moving to Syracuse August 15th and as of yet, do not know anyone in the area.

I am at Rugby - it is certainly not within walking distance. I looked at some places that were closer to school, and i was a little uneasy about the neighbourhoods. The places that were recommended and close to campus were out of one bedrooms when i visited in early June.
If you are in Rugby, we could possibly carpool. There is also bussing, but I don't know how reliable/close that is.

Are you transferring back to Canada?
