Transferring / Re: Northwestern Anyone?
« on: July 09, 2009, 03:17:47 PM »
same thing here, just got the northwestern email this morning, 7/17 deposit $750
I probably will go michigan since both schools offer need-based grant (I suppose they offer the same money since they all use needaccess, but could someone verify?), but I'm still considering.  So far only knows not going back to DC
I applied too. I saw on the TransferApps board on Yahoo Groups that they usually let admits know around July 10.  I really hope so as I got into Michigan and need to reply by July 15... Have any of your friends heard one way or the other about their transfer apps there?

Law School Applications / Re: Chinese and law

As a native speaker of Mandarin, I just wanna remind you that the interest in the language is quite different from being able to do legal work with that language...Most people say it is the most difficult language and I will imagine a native speaker of English need 10+ years learning to master it...It is just a bit unrealistic for me to believe you will be able to get that...No offense and no intent to discourage you. But to be honest, it's even quite a challenge for me to learn Cantonese, and so you can imagine how difficult an Asian language can actually be.

Just FYI I got my merit-based scholarship letter today. It's 20000/yr with 1st yr free housing, sounds pretty attractive to me...plus I don't have any other decent choice so I c myself pretty likely end up in GWU...
