I've had a few law schools email me to invite me to apply, citing my LSAC file, and offering to waive my application fee. Recently, I had Cardozo do this even though my numbers are just about average for their admissions. Cardozo happens to be pretty high on my list of schools I want to attend. Is it a good sign when they offer to waive your fee, or do they do this to tons of people regardless of scores?

I am thinking of applying Early Decision to Cardozo. Does applying ED help your chances in any way if you are a "borderline" candidate?

I was looking at the LSN graph of admissions to Cornell. ( http://www.lawschoolnumbers.com/graphs.php?cycle=5&school_code=2098 ) I'm not going to debate the merits or pitfalls of affirmative action, I just had a question. The bulk of accepts are in the 166+ LSAT and 3.5+ GPA. I noticed a few people accepted with numbers are low as mid 150's LSATs and low 3 GPA's. However, each of these people were "self selected under-represented minorities". Does this mean as a non-"URM" with a 161 and a 3.8 I stand no shot, even though people are being accepted with 156's? Also, is there a list somewhere of exactly what constitutes a "URM"?

I have a 3.8 GPA from a fourth tier public university, 161 LSAT. Coming straight from undergrad. Worked one summer at a law firm. Throughout college worked in student government doing everything from senator, to attorney general, to election chairman.
Also considering applying to Cornell as a far, far reach with a unique personal statement.
