Law School Admissions / Re: what weight does "major" GPA carry?

somewhere between none and 0%...

UCI will overtake both by 2029.

UCI might make it out of the third tier by then... Assuming it actually happens.

I found this spreadsheet on another thread.

According to it Hastings has only been ranked higher than Davis for two years since 1990 ('99-'00). Even if Hastings were to overtake Davis in '09 I think it will be short lived. Also, even if Hastings were to be ranked higer than Davis in '09 (and maybe even for a few years after), with such a solid history of Davis being slightly higer than Hastings I think professionally Davis will hold more prestige for a for several more years.

With that said, both are great schools, and when it comes down to it I think the biggest difference between them is not the rankings but the programs they offer.

In Sacramento, maybe; anywhere else, no.

Hastings has a decent chance to overtake Davis with the new library, etc..  It probably won't make it back into the top 20 any time soon, however.  Good school nonetheless.

Ford brought back the Taurus after rethinking the whole "the name of every car must start with a F thing." If you like at the Ford site, you'll see that a '08 Taurus is available (pretty much a renamed Ford 500).

I didn't realize they were going with the "F" marketing plan.. huh. at any rate, the earlier honda and minivan analogies are spot on.

P.S. The flash site for the ford flex made me vomit.

I was going to go with the Windows as Ford Taurus analogy as well.  Ford Tauruses are very popular because they are cheap and they do get the job done well enough most of the time, but they also just aren't very good cars.

Windows is a fine OS, you're just plain wrong.

Windows if like a crappy ford taurus that breaks for no reason.

Windows is a Honda Civic that people get all pissed about because they try and put a ground kit, new exhaust, and a wing on it.  They have piles of sh*t sitting in the trunk, havent washed it in years, and then they wonder why it doesnt run good.

If you keep your system clean and tidy, there is nothing wrong with windows.

this is the best analogy ever written on any subject.  I will now be using it as my own without give you credit.

seriously though, you are dead on.

I'm not going to fall into that trap, but the Mac OS is very fisher price.  it's the minivan of computing.

What does that make Windows?

something other than the minivan of computing.

Mac's are not 'real' computers, don't kid yourself.
consumer grade laptops are not going to hold up to heavy use, go with a business line
Lenovo's are not that great, though many people are too busy washing thinkpad batter out of their teeth to notice
Finally, get your research from several reliable sources.

Well why don't you enlighten us?  What is a "real" computer?

Sweet! I drove a minivan in high school, AND Little People were my favorite toys when I was a toddler. I am going to LOVE my Macbook!

Glad to hear you are so stoked....  I guess.
