Initial test in June '05, without much studying: 163
Test in Sept. '06, with a bunch of preparation: 177

I have no idea how he did it.  Rejected by all t14 (deferred-rejected at Columbia and WL at Michigan).

Average all American midwestern white guy.  No special talents or anything.  Had already signed a lease at Vandy.

In at H.

He's not a bad guy (like I said I lived with him in dorms at Notre Dame) and I'm proud to be going to school with him.  I'm just not sure how he pulled it off.

Well I'm glad there'll be at least one more of that type around--I'm wavering between feeling nervous and intimidated by the whole idea of going out to the big bad east coast and away from my "salt of the earth" mid-west roots.

Basketball, psh.  But if anyone is a Yankees fan, or at least not a Red Sox fan, I will be your friend...

In other, and, much more exciting news, I am a proud Cambridge lessee!  Two blocks away, baby.
Congrats Saja! Sounds like a great find!

Now that you have signed a lease, are you ready to change your sig?

Good point!  Sig and avatar caption updated.  Finally.

Anyway, I'm pretty excited to be moving to Cambridge, I must admit that it's a pretty cool place.:)

As a future frequenter of your abode (assuming, of course, that I am invited), I must say that I am a mad obsessee of the Cleveland Indians.  If all works out as it looks like it might, we could be having some battles in the ALCS between the Sox/Yankees and the Tribe.  If that happens to be the case, all the better.  If the Indians choke, I will disavow all love for them.

Whatever happened with that HAH stuff?

We have window 8, which I think has a view window of June 25 - June 27 and a select window of June 28. It's one of the options on the table.

P.S. I feel like I should get you a "Sorry about your loss" card, but pretty much everyone saw it coming. Go Celtics.

Blow me, I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

My room next year will be decked out in Cavaliers paraphernalia and there's nothing you can do about it.

Hmmm... when were we supposed to receive this waitlist #?  I'm terribly confused.  I haven't gotten an email from Harvard since I was notified of immunization requirements or whatever almost a month ago.

"There's no telling whether it will happen, but if Chicago reports you were less than honest to them in the application process, you would probably be in big trouble with the Character and Fitness Committee of whatever state you take the bar in."

Based on what I've heard from other law students, there's absolutely zero chance that this would happen.  I'd imagine it really comes down to a matter of personal ethics.  For folks at other schools, I'd be curious to know what sort of commitments you've been expected to make, since it appears that Don and SlowChildrenAtPlay feel free to wait out their respective waitlists.  Do Harvard and Georgetown just cash your deposit checks and call it good without asking for any sort of firm commitment?

Yup.  They gladly cashed my $500 non-refundable deposit and haven't forced me to sign anything else.

Apparently they never received my withdrawal response form because a few days ago I got a letter from Faye Deal stating that due to my lack of response, they assumed that I no longer wanted to be considered for admission and so withdrew my application.  I wonder what would have happened had I called back immediately and said that I sent it back two weeks ago seeking to remain on the waitlist...  Aww well, California looks like it'll have to wait until I'm old enough to retire.

Okay folks, let's get this thread back on track to Yale obsessing!

Correct, now, in that vein I have heard nothing and am getting anxious.  When did they start admitting folks last year off the waitlist?

I'm thinking the winners will be democrats, but I can't see Hillary or Edwards running as veeps should neither of them get the presidential nomination... especially not if it's for Obama, who I believe is younger--and has spent less time in the Senate--than either of them.  If Obama gets the nod I would look towards a more centrist dem for vp--maybe even Biden if he would do it; he was pragmatic and surprisingly effective in the debate Sunday.
