General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Re: Wash U Class of 2010

Hey everybody,

So I am not actually going to WUSTL law, but I went to Wash U undergrad and LOVED it!

As for places to live, I would recommend somewhere in between delmar and campus.  Nice area.  Safe and affordable.  May be a fair amount of undergrads, but Wash U isn't really a party school, so it shouldn't be bad.

Also, the Dorchester (sadly I forget what street, but it is right next to Forest Park) is really nice.  I assume that it is fairly expensive, but very nice and very safe.  I never lived there, but I had friends who did.

While this doesn't help much with the living arrangements...take advantage of Forest Park when you get there.  it is really beautiful.  Currently, I live about two blocks from Central Park in NYC and I still prefer Forest Park...

Good luck!

Hey Suzieq,

Thank you for the info.  I just started reading a "how to deal with law school" book that succeeded in scaring the crap out of me.

Your info about the professors helped a lot/made me feel a bit better.

Congrats on finishing your finals,

M

Hey PhilaGirl,

Oddly enough, I am in the SAME position.  I am off for 10 days in June and we are having a rouhg time finding a replacement.

I do feel overwhelmingly guilty...

I'm out June 29th.  Counting the days.

My boss is an INCREDIBLY nice woman and has known I was leaving since September.  She has been very supportive and wrote me a rec.

I feel bad about leaving because I work in a very small department.  I, too, have to train my replacement. Shouldn't be too painful though.

I can't believe it is almost memorial day already!

BU.  With me, they were very personable and kind.

Quinnipiac: VERY nice.

Brooklyn: Tenacious.  Also courteous.

Worst: BC.  I thought that their letter of rejection was especially cold and a bit soulless.

Best: Contrary to some other people's experiences, I had great interactions with BU.  Granted, I will be going there, but they were always curteous, professional and very VERY nice when I called.  Even before I was accepted.

Honorable mention: I know it's not a school high on a lot of people's lists, but Quinnipiac was by far the most personal of the schools I applied to.  I even got a holiday card from them.  Brooklyn Law was also very nice.

Hey Everybody,

I will be attending BU Law next year and wanted to say a quick hello.

Right now, I am a Celtic fan trapped in NYC.

Who's excited about moving?...  I live in a 4-floor walk-up and am not so excited about the moving part.

Anyone know where he or she wants to live?  Where exactly is Back Bay?  Anyway, just wanted to try and revitalize this thread.

For the record, I am a scorpio who enjoys long walks in the park, puppies, and NBA basketball.

GO BU!

Matt
