I am heading into my third year as an evening student. To echo the previous post; it is very challenging. I have been taking four classes a semester, three nights a week, beginning at 6 and usually ending around 9:30. Save vacation days from work and use them once in a while for mental health/study days. Use the rest for finals studying. I have not taken any time off for recreation since February of 2007. Figured I would start with the bad stuff first
The good news is that evening students, at least ones at my school, are very mature and are friendly with one another. There is more of a sense of camaraderie than competitiveness. Another bonus is not having to take out cost of living loans - I am only borrowing tuition.
Overall it is very difficult, but not impossible. You will learn something about yourself along the way.
