Current Law Students / Re: question

Jacy-

I phrased my question the way I did because of the endless # of posts on this forum that invariably state the following: "if you go to X school your getting a bad job."

I wasn't trying to be a jerk about it, sorry.  But in all seriousness, I've encountered many students (not at top tier schools) who have great qualifications, but still find it difficult to land a good job.

More than anything, I'm just looking for some info/feedback from members of this forum.

no worries ... i didn't take it as an unfriendly question.  To me, a bad job is one that pays $40K - $50K  doing insurance defense work.  i'm not knocking people who do it, but just the idea of having to take such job because there is no other option

does a new york law school 3L student w/ law review, moot court, and top 10% have a chance to obtain anything other than a bad job after graduation?

now that i reread the title, i can't argue with you.  it does sound like a personal ad.

nevertheless, i'm still looking for 3L advice on jobs in NY.

For any 3L's out there...

How are you finding the NY job market so far?  Any suggestions?

What are 3L's doing to try and secure a post-BAR position ASAP?

Hi everyone,

I am a 2L at NYLS.  I know the school's reputation is not strong, especially considering its location in New York. Should I look to apply to an LLM program such as a Fordham Law to help boost the resume?

Is a 2L allowed to transfer to another school for his/her final year?  Is there even a scenario where that would be plausible/ possible?

Thanks for the reply ... it was definitley very helpful.  One last question though, does anyone think NY Law will make it to the second-tier and stay there?  I hear they have been moving up the ranks rapidly.
