Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Cardozo/Brooklyn/St.Johns
« on: December 06, 2007, 11:19:46 PM »um st. johns is NOT in jamaica. I mean i could be technically wrong b/c i dont know the exact address. but jamaica, queens is a pretty bad neighborhood but right near lots of really nice areas. I moved to Kew Gardens when i was about 17 (from floral park, also in queens) which is about 10 minute drive from st. johns (right down union tpke) and jamaica is the next town over, but kew gardens is REALLY nice, and so is forest hills, the next town from kew gardens. st. johns is right in a nice residential area, that is a short DRIVE from Jamaica. and Jamaica estates is nto considered IN jamaica. to clarify, Jamaica estates is actually one of queens NICEST neighborhoods while Jamaica is one of the worst.
i dont know if that cleared anything up. i'm not a huge fan of queens, but to say that st. johns is in a bad area is ridiculous.
I lived in Jamaica. Well my zipcode say Jamaica and I lived 6 blocks away from St. Johns. St. Johns is in the Jamaica zipcode but it is one of the nicest areas around. If St. Johns was on the other side of Union Turnpike, it'll be in Fresh Meadows - a much better sounding name.
Jamaica is a big zipcode and has tons of nice areas within it...especially around the northern and eastern borders.
Don't worry about the neighborhood. It is the most suburban like out all the law schools located in NYC (I consider Hostra is outside nyc). It is still an urban area but the area is mostly houses with lawns and the area is pretty much mostly asians.
